You will probably read various stories on social networking sites and in the press about our former director of food, Kenny Atkinson, with whom we have agreed to part company. I just wanted to share with you the details…

The mutual decision comes as we re-open our triple AA Rosette flagship Orangery restaurant for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner six evenings per week, following our £150,000 refurbishment.

Kenny- who was part of Rockliffe Hall's opening team responsible for our three restaurants and banqueting since 2009- now plans to explore a number of new opportunities but will return to Rockliffe Hall throughout the next year for a number of special events and cookery demonstrations.

This amicable decision comes as we revamp our restaurants, including a slightly more relaxed feel to the award-winning Orangery, recently re-launched with a more extensive a la carte menu.

Kenny has been a tremendous asset to the management team and has been instrumental in attracting and developing an outstanding team of chefs. However, all restaurants- including The Orangery- have always been managed by their own, very talented head chefs and this will not change.

We're looking forward to still working on a number of special projects with Kenny in the forthcoming months and wish him well in his next venture.

Kenny Atkinson said: "It has been challenging and very rewarding establishing three, very different restaurants at Rockliffe Hall. I'm very proud of the team and what we have achieved within the past four years throughout the resort. Rockliffe Hall is a special place and I wish the team all the success for the future but it is now time for a new challenge."

At the start of 2013, The Orangery opened for lunch for the first time which is proving really popular. Like many top restaurants around the UK, The Orangery has adapted a more relaxed approach to dining in recent months, now offering both a la carte and tasting menu options. However, the emphasis will always be on our superb local suppliers, seasonal ingredients and creative dining, all brought together by our experienced team chefs.
