Resolutions of Fitness

It is that time of the year again, when we have the resolution to increase our exercise activity and to lead a healthier lifestyle. We blast the gym, try the latest fad diet and do not attain the goals we have set, resulting in exercise drop out and no improvement in lifestyle. This inevitably reinforces the doubt and lack of self-belief we have installed within our selves with regards to exercise participation. The main problem is we expect to achieve unattainable goals in a short period of time, instead of setting small achievable goals over a long term period.

Studies have shown that our main focus when initiating an exercise program should be on building our self esteem within the exercise environment. The rationale is that once we have increased our self worth with regards to physical activity, this will help us prioritise our exercise routine over a long term period.
A logical way to achieve this is to; give ourselves time to settle into the exercise environment, constant self praise when we reach our small attainable goals, increase our knowledge, understanding and awareness on what we are doing, why we are doing it and what we are looking to achieve.

Here at Rockliffe Hall, there are many fun and interesting activities to participate in to keep you fit and healthy and to motivate you to involve them into your day to day life styles. Walking is one of these- a brisk walk around our beautiful hotel grounds is highly recommended, and another great activity on offer here is Nordic Walking.

Nordic walking is the revolutionary full body workout that you can do anywhere; the concept is to enhance the natural walking pattern using specifically designed Nordic walking poles.

Nordic walking has become the hottest new fitness trend spreading rapidly all over the world. It is a time efficient, low stress total body workout which is fantastic for weight loss as well as enhancing your body tone and helping you look better; it is great for mind and body and almost anybody can do it regardless of age, weight or physical condition.

Put a spring in your step and try one of our 'learn to Nordic walk courses' in the beautiful surroundings of Rockliffe Hall. Hotel and Spa Day guests and spa members can make the most of our fantastic Nordic Walking classes, and you will not be disappointed with this great form of exercise. Nordic Walking is also a great team-building exercise, and makes a great break from your meeting or conference here at Rockliffe Hall.

Rockliffe Hall also has a fantastic 20 metre swimming pool where you can enjoy a leisurely swim and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of our spa at the same time. Exercise doesn't have to be a chore…you can enjoy it as part of your spa experience. Take a look at some of our great spa day packages here.
