Welcome to the first blog of 2012 from me, Angela Jackson Clubhouse Manager at Rockliffe Hall.I have been the Clubhouse Manager at Rockliffe Hall since 2009, and have a wealth of knowledge in Golf and Club hospitality with my career spanning many years.

Clubhouse Manager, Angela Jackson
I started in this chosen industry as a chef and moved onto events and hospitality, with a long spell in Highgate, North London and then moving to The Royal County of Berkshire. I then relocated with my family back to 'The Land of The Prince Bishop`s ', perhaps with the royal theme running through my career path I should be addressed as Lady Angela!

Enough of me, I'm blogging for you all and I will introduce you to all of my staff over the course of my future blogs, who are a lovely friendly group of people and welcome each and every guest to The Clubhouse with their warm and friendly attitude. I will keep you informed about any forthcoming events so that you can get the dates entered into your diaries, talk about new changes to our ever popular Grill Menu and chat to you about weekly goings on at The Clubhouse.

What do we have happening over the next few weeks?

As always we are open from Dawn to Dusk and not only for the seasoned golfer. There is no need to be fluent in golfing terminology, no need to know "will I reach the green in 2", you can simply enjoy the spectacular panoramic views across the Golf Course. We serve anything from a Cappuccino, breakfast bacon roll or eggs benedict, to something more substantial from our lunch menu which features our Rockliffe burger, making a name for itself all on its own with returning guests coming along just for the burger. It's not just any burger, it's made from 100% steak and it's definitely worth a visit to try it!

If you can`t make lunch then come along and sample our Grill menu dishes inspired by our Head Chef Mark Whitely, served from 5-9.30pm and at a price that is also kind on the pocket- 2 courses £16.50 and 3 courses £19.50. My personal favourite is the Tempura prawns followed by the Slow roasted Belly Pork, dripping with flavour and locally sourced.

Our very popular Sunday lunch is available from 12.00-4.00pm every Sunday in The Grassholme Suite, a contrast to the main lounge; the tables are laid with white linen, fresh flowers and candles on nice circular tables that will seat a maximum of 10/12 guests, so a great chance to get together with the family. Price for this popular Sunday treat is 2 courses for £16.50 and 3 courses for £19.50.

To help you shake off the winter blues we also have the following treats for you:-

On Friday 13th January (tonight), we have an accomplished singer and guitarist joining us for our first 'Friday Night Live'. Her name is Val Boyers and we have had the pleasure of her company at last year's Summer Ball and the guests enjoyed her music so much we have asked her back. She is known in the Yarm area and has got herself quite a following so if you are thinking of dining out this Friday, then the only place is The Clubhouse. Great food, wonderful ambiance and live music- take a look at our fab Grill Menu.

Friday 20th January looks set to be another great night with a Bollywood inspired evening- what a treat! Colourful dancers in gorgeous saris will entertain you, and a delightful menu in keeping with the Bollywood theme will make for a fantastic cultural evening- you will not be disappointed.

Further Dates for your diary:-
It's been a pleasure writing for you and over the course of my next blogs, I will introduce you to the friendly staff that work at The Clubhouse and of course keep you updated about any events that we have planned. All in all its going to be an exciting 2012.

Au Revoir for now, Angela
