What can I say what has been happening since I last wrote a blog?! It has been a memorable stint in the world of Rockliffe Hall. The mighty Boro have gained promotion back to where they belong. In league winning history the best team always wins the league. In my humble opinion this did not happen this year in the Championship. The Boro have been the best team in that league and have duly reaped the benefit but should have gone up as champions! I know the Burnley fans including our chairman and the lovely Maureen will disagree! Well done to both on this amazing achievement. Aitor, Neil and the team - you have got the Boro back to the Premier League. A huge well done to EVERY single member of staff at the Boro for you all played your part. Special mention also to all their related families and supporters that felt the pain in the past few years. Finally on that note no one deserves it more that Steve. He is unique in this game at the moment and for him to see his beloved Boro back in the Premiership which he, Pete, Neil, Aitor and the directors and coaches have been grafting on for 7 years is remarkable. Enjoy your summer we are back in the big time!
Rockliffe has hosted some great events recently, not least of all An Evening with Tony Hadley at Rockliffe on Saturday night. What a night! I must say Tony and his people were magnificent. They were blown away by the Rockliffe experience as we were by his brilliant performance. What a voice and true professional. It was memorable and hosted in the grounds of Rockliffe which, as always, was perfectly manicured by Davy, Phil and his team. The team at Rockliffe nailed it. Thank you to all. Watch this space for the next big night at Rockliffe. If it is anything like the first, we will be in for a treat. We also hosted the FA coaches’ seminar on the same week which was a great time for all attendees.
Spring is ending and the summer is approaching. The golf clubs have come out of hibernation and we all at Rockliffe look forward to another great summer. We have some great events lined up, The Orangery will be using the summer’s seasonal produce for their fine dining experience, The Brasserie terrace is in full flow and the Clubhouse is the place to see the sunset with the good weather coming back. Kirsten, Daisy and I love it here in the summer, it truly is magical and we are thankful to be living in such a beautiful place with great and genuine people. On that note I feel it appropriate to inform all that Kirsten and I will be having an addition to the family this summer. All being well and God willing, Paddy Elliott will be born in and around the end of July. We have Erin on nappy changing training at the moment which she not happy about! We will keep you posted.
All the very best for now,
