We are amidst my favourite time of year. The weather and light nights are coming to Rockliffe, my golf clubs are being looked at and the place is looking fantastic.
Paddy, our wee son, is now 8 months old (still not sleeping!) but I must say he and mum are doing great. Our evenings are this: we feed him from 8 – 9, he gets in his cosies, Mum feeds, Dad then gets on his hunter hat, Paddy gets on his hunter hat, we then go on the Rockliffe night walks to get into deep sleep! Welcome to my world. I must say though, whilst walking Rockliffe at night time, it is the most beautiful place. Davy, Phil, Ivor and their teams have the grounds in amazing condition and the illumination of the estate makes the night walk so enjoyable. From Paddy and I, thank you to all.
Since my last blog, we have hosted some amazing events and the brand of Rockliffe is reaching further afield. I am so proud to have accepted the Pride of Britain Hotel of the Year Award on behalf of Rockliffe Hall. The team is the reason why we won this brilliant award. This, amongst a litany of other awards we have won this year at Rockliffe, has been well received by the team. We are proud to represent the North East and be vocal about this great part of England which has, and is, being overlooked by segments of government and industry professionals. We at Rockliffe would challenge any establishment that surpasses on people, golf, food and beverage, product, spa or accommodation. We will maintain our reinvestment through our own cash generation in order to maintain our position in the UK market. This is vital on making sure we grow and develop the Rockliffe brand.
The field development which will include additional facilities for all Rockliffe residents and members, will be a brilliant enhancement of our estate. We have so many wonderful repeat, loyal and advocate families to Rockliffe. This enhancement will reinforce that relationship with all members and residents to Rockliffe. Watch this space people, as it should be complete for August/September time!
One other event to note. Every year we do a crazy challenge for great charities. This year, Rich allen (Orangery Exec Chef) Katie Scott (Sales and Marketing supremo) and I will ATTEMPT to do the Helvelyn Triathlon in the Lake district, in September, for a great friend of ours in Belfast that has MND. This kid we have known all our lives and he is a great son, father, husband, brother and generally an amazing person. Anto Finnegan epitomises the phrase The Fighting Irish - I know that phrase is labelled loosely in reference to certain people but this kid is that phrase. We will give you more information later about Anto and why we are attempting to do this most difficult of triathlons for this cause.
Thank you all for supporting Rockliffe and the team, and I really genuinely look forward to welcoming you all back soon.
