Festival of Food raising money for three charities

Rockliffe Hall is delighted once again to welcome some of the country’s best professional chefs during the eight-day celebration of British food...

The Festival of Food starts on Saturday 1st February 2020.

For the second year running, the Artisan Food Fair will begin the festival on the first weekend with the region's finest artisan food producers inviting visitors to sample and buy their products. Following this will be series of special events taking place throughout the week, finishing with a Black Tie Gala Dinner on Saturday 8th February.

Throughout the festival, money will be raised for charity partners, the Great North Air Ambulance Service and Hospitality Action.

Hospitality Action is a charity that offers vital assistance to those working, or who have worked within hospitality in the UK and who find themselves in crisis.

Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) is Rockliffe Hall’s nominated charity of the year. They bring pioneering pre-hospital care to the scene, rescuing hundreds of severely injured or ill patients every year. The charity receives no funding from the NHS and is entirely reliant on public donations to survive.

On one special evening during the festival, funds will be raised for Action Against Hunger. The Fashion of Food with Frances Atkins and Ellie Richmond takes place on Wednesday 5th February and the ticket price includes a charitable donation to Action Against Hunger, for which Frances Atkins is taking part in a trek through the Jordan Rift Valley to the of ancient city of Petra at the end of February 2020.

Action Against Hunger is a charity that strive to ensure everyone in the world is free from hunger, can access clean water, training and healthcare. They work in nearly 50 countries worldwide to carry out innovative, lifesaving programmes in nutrition, food security, water, sanitation and hygiene.

Money will be raised by big prize raffles during each event during the Festival of Food, prizes will include overnight stays and dining experiences.
