Olympic Level Brazilian Wine

Brazilian wines are often underrated and perfect for summer - not just for the impending Olympic Games! As a wine growing nation they have produced good quality wines for over 150 years.

Do you usually go for the same wine when you go out shopping? Better to be safe than sorry? May I tempt you otherwise? 
My pick is the Miolo Cuvee Giuseppe, Chardonnay, 2013.

Miolo’s history starts in 1897 when Giuseppe Miolo arrived in Brazil from Italy, Veneto region, and he settled in southern Brazil, what is now called the wine region. With steady growth and investment through the generations, Miolo are now one of Brazil’s leading wineries.

The nose has resemblance of apricot, dried pineapple and a touch of caramel. The taste is smooth and inviting, promise an exploration of flavours. And yes, you get honey mixed with a light touch of Vanilla, caramel nuances appear, but it is still fresh with a nicely balanced mineral feel. The wood tanning ad a slight heaviness at the end but lingers beautifully on the palate, bedding itself in nicely both as a fine wine, but also as a great discovery.

I do find this marvellous wine do go better with food and as it is summer... A grilled Chicken salad, any barbequed fish and also why not try it to a nicely pressed and pan fried Pork belly.
