Meet James Close, Culinary Director
James joined us from Raby Hunt restaurant in Summerhouses, Darlington where he held two Michelin stars.
Close was the first chef in the North East to be awarded two Michelin stars, making his restaurant one of just 20 two Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK and the only two-star restaurant in the North East. It was also placed fourth in The Good Food Guide’s Top 20 Most Exciting UK Restaurants of 2022.
At Rockliffe Hall, James is bringing his passion and personality to our resort dining experiences, modernising what we offer our guests across gastronomy, service, and experiences.
Booking Terms & Conditions
TERRA Dinner, Bed & Breakfast can be booked Wednesday to Saturday from 1st August until 21st December. Prices are based on 2 adults sharing, subject to availability. Please note full payment is required at the time of booking which is non-refundable, however date changes can be made until 3pm, 14 days prior to arrival without charge. After this time 100% cancellation applies. Menu is pre-selected. Guests must state any dietary requirements at the time of booking or at least 48 hours pre-arrival. Please note that TERRA is open for bookings Wednesday to Saturday from 6.30pm until 9pm. You must be aged 18 or over to book this experience.
