From the heart of the Old Hall to the heart of your home, our Christmas cocktails are the perfect celebratory tipple.

Add a touch of Rockliffe Hall magic to your festivities with the delicately spiced Mulled Old Fashioned and the refreshingly crisp Sloe Gin Fizz.

These recipes have been thoughtfully crafted by our Old Hall Manager, Thomas Mills, to bring a little extra cheer to your magical moments.

Mulled Old Fashioned

Ingredients

50ml Bourbon Whiskey
15-25ml Mulled Wine Syrup (see below to create this at home)
2 dashes of Angostura Orange
Ice
Orange peel to garnish

Method

In a mixing glass, add 2 dashes of orange bitters and 2 dashes of cocoa bitters. Then add mulled wine syrup to taste (we recommend 15-25ml) and 50ml of bourbon. Stir well over ice to achieve a nice level of dilution then pour into your serving glass over ice. Express an orange peel over your glass before garnishing with a twist of orange peel.

Number of servings: 1

Best time to enjoy: After dinner/evening digestif.

Key flavours: The festive spices in the mulled wine syrup perfectly complement the caramel, honey, and vanilla undertones of the bourbon.

Serving suggestions: Serve in a rocks glass over ice, garnished with orange peel. To elevate the rich and sweet flavours of this cocktails, pair with dark chocolate.

Sloe Gin Fizz

Ingredients

50ml sloe gin
25ml lemon juice
25ml cranberry juice
15ml sugar syrup
25ml lemon juice
½ egg white
A splash of Prosecco
A sprig of fresh rosemary to garnish

Method

Into a cocktail shaker add 50ml sloe gin, 25ml lemon juice, 25ml cranberry juice, 15ml sugar syrup, ½ egg white and a few sprigs of rosemary. Dry shake to break down the egg white to achieve a velvety texture. Once well shaken, add ice to your shaker, then shake again. Once shaken thoroughly, add ice into a highball glass and double strain your drink into the glass leaving space at the top to add a splash of Prosecco. Garnish with a sprig of fresh rosemary.

Number of servings: 1

Best time to enjoy: Due to its fresh flavours, serve as a pre-dinner apertif.

Key flavours: The sloe gin, coupled with the aroma of rosemary, adds a festive twist to this refreshing cocktail - and of course, it wouldn't be Christmas without the added sparkle of Prosecco!

Serving suggestions: Serve in a tall highballl glass, garnished with a sprig of rosemary. We recommend that you lightly char the garnish to intensify the aroma.
