The restored Walled Kitchen Garden features freshly grown produce, flowers blooming in all their glory and a tranquil space for guests.

The team are proud of this fabulous area where they are busy working on vegetable and flower beds. The walled garden has pathways, a formal yew hedge and a centrepiece seating area allowing our members and guests a tranquil place to sit.

Our Restored Walled Garden

An Experience for the Senses

The Walled Kitchen Garden was originally constructed in 2017 and  was brought back to life in 2022. Experience Rockliffe Hall's Walled Kitchen Garden in full bloom this summer. Walk amongst the beds, explore the growing houses and potting shed and experience first-hand interaction with our knowledgeable Gardening Team.

The fresh produce provides a fragrant aroma as you wander around the gardens. The organic produce is used in the kitchens by our chefs adding seasonal flavour and colour to their dishes.

Around the Garden Walls

A great variety of fruit trees grow along the east wall featuring redcurrants, blackberries and gooseberries to apples, raspberries and plums. Home grown fruit is thought to benefit health and well being.

On the west wall a cut flower section provides beautiful splashes of colour to the area.

Outside of the garden walls, guests can embrace feeling part of nature itself in the wildflower meadows, a great location for a peaceful stroll. Feel the calm of being immersed within the great outdoors.

Harvest

The Gardening Team are busy cultivating and preparing the beds for the ingredients ready for growing organic produce all year round.

The harvest hopes to include herbs and vegetables including tomatoes, red and white onions, chillies, cucumbers, green beans, garden peas, potatoes, garlic, rhubarb, thyme, bay and many more seasonal ingredients to provide produce that inspires our Chefs in their kitchens to create dishes with the garden to plate ethos.

Rockliffe Honey

Rockliffe Hall is also pleased to be working with the EPICH community volunteer group, based in the local village of Hurworth. We now have 10 working beehives in the resort which will provide the very best environment for our little friends to produce our very own Rockliffe honey.
