James Maw Returns to Rockliffe Hall as Head PGA Teaching Professional

Rockliffe Hall is delighted to announce the return of James Maw, who this month steps into the role of Head PGA Teaching Professional at the Rockliffe Golf Academy.

James is no stranger to Rockliffe. His journey with us began in 2014 when he joined as an Attached PGA Professional while competing on both the EuroPro Tour and the PGA Tour of China. He later returned in 2019 to begin his PGA qualification before moving on to Seaton Carew, where he has spent the last three years developing as a dedicated teaching professional.

With experience coaching everyone from complete beginners to PGA Tour players, James brings an impressive breadth of knowledge to the Academy. He also continues to play a key role in regional player development as coach for the County Durham men’s and women’s first teams, the boys’ under-18/14/12 squads, and the Teesside Union boys’ under-18 squad.

As he takes the helm of the Rockliffe Golf Academy, James will continue to build on our established coaching ethos, centred around IMPACT, a philosophy that blends individualised coaching with measurable progress and purposeful training. Designed to help every golfer understand their game more clearly and develop with confidence, this approach ensures that each player follows a personalised path aligned with their ability, goals, and learning style.

We are proud to welcome James back to the Rockliffe Hall team and look forward to the expertise and energy he brings to the Academy.
