The annual awards, this year held at The Old Course Hotel, St Andrews, on March 13th, recognise some of the highest-profile and best-loved golf venues across the globe, and the people who work at them.
Ben Hunt, Clubhouse Manager, scooped the Food and Beverage Manager of the Year Award and the golf course also won the Gold Flag Resort Award for the third year running.
The winners are determined by scores collected from an independent visitor panel who evaluate the experience afforded to visiting golfers and prospective members in accordance with 59club’s non-subjective benchmarking criteria. Each venue is judged on performance in the following areas – sales, service, operations, retail, golf course, food & beverage and management.
Davy Cuthbertson, Golf Course and Estate Director at Rockliffe Hall, says: “It’s fabulous that Ben has won this much deserved award. He’s an absolute asset to the Rockliffe Hall team and an exceptional front of house manager, popular with staff and guests. We’re also thrilled to have come home, again, with the Gold Flag Resort Award. This is the sixth consecutive year we’ve won 59club flag status, and the fifth time we’ve achieved gold - it’s a credit to every team member at Rockliffe Hall Golf.”
Ben Hunt says: “I’m thrilled to have won the Food and Beverage Manager of the Year award. We’ve got a great team in The Clubhouse and I couldn’t have won it without their support.”
Designed by Hawtree, the world-renowned course architects, Rockliffe Hall’s 18 hole championship golf course is renowned for being one of the most challenging, and longest, in Europe. Alongside the exceptional course is a fully stocked Pro Shop, extensive practice facilities and driving range, a luxurious yet relaxed clubhouse serving delicious food, and a top quality golf services team, including 4 PGA professionals.
