The annual awards recognise some of the highest-profile and best-loved golf venues across the globe.
Jon Wyer, Head Greenkeeper at Rockliffe Hall, is again shortlisted for Greenkeeper of the Year, which he won last year. Jonny Dye is shortlisted for Golf Retail Manager of the Year; Ben Hunt is in the running for Food and Beverage Manager of the Year; Ashley Freeman is shortlisted for Leading Individual Golf Membership Performance; and the Rockliffe Golf team is up for the coveted title of Golf Operation Team of the Year.
The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at The Old Course Hotel, St Andrews, on Wednesday 13th March.
The nominations and ultimate winners are determined by scores collected from an independent visitor panel who evaluate the experience afforded to visiting golfers and prospective members in accordance with 59club’s non-subjective benchmarking criteria. Each venue is judged on performance in the following areas – sales, service, operations, retail, golf course, food & beverage and management.
Davy Cuthbertson, Golf Course and Estate Director at Rockliffe Hall, says: “We have an amazing golf team and exceptional course here at Rockliffe Hall and to be nominated in five categories in the 59club awards is testament to this. We’re looking forward to attending the awards ceremony in Scotland next week and hope to return with more well-deserved accolades for The Clubhouse trophy cabinet.”
Simon Wordsworth, Chief Executive of 59club and Fellow of the PGA, says: “Over the past 12 months, 59club members have again shown an incredible commitment to providing their members and guests with the golf industry’s highest service standards, and what better way to reward them than with what promises to be an evening to remember in St Andrews. The awards evening will stand as recognition of those individuals and teams who go above and beyond to ensure the experiences they provide are nothing short of exceptional."
