The winners were revealed at a glittering awards ceremony held on Thursday 20th March at the Civic Centre in Newcastle as part of English Tourism Week 2025.
All entrants in the tourism awards are subject to an independent judging process which includes a mystery inspection for all shortlisted hotels. Winners of the regional awards are then passed forward to the national Visit England Awards which take place later in the year.
John Marshall, Chair of Destination North East England said: “Every year these awards are a joy to be part of, offering us a moment to take time to recognise the fantastic businesses and individuals who contribute to our visitor economy. The introduction of the three new awards was a way of shining a light on even more incredible organisations, events and people who add to the visitor offer. The region’s tourism sector is moving into a new era with ambitious targets and stronger partnerships aiming to deliver on the region’s potential. Well done to everyone who received awards.”
Shauna Robb, General Manager of Rockliffe Hall added: “I am incredibly proud of the whole Rockliffe Hall team for winning this award for the third year in a row. We are currently undergoing a significant refurbishment of the Old Hall with exciting plans to further develop Rockliffe Hall in 2026 and beyond, however, to win this award during a time of transition is an even bigger testament to how committed each team member is to ensuring guests have a memorable and exceptional experience.”
Congratulations to all the other winners and finalists.
