A glimpse into the future of Rockliffe Hall
Rockliffe Hall stands at a defining moment. With a landmark multimillion-pound transformation already underway, the coming months will see us reimagine the entire resort experience, creating a place where quiet luxury meets northern spirit.
Coming this summer
SUITES SHAPED BY HERITAGE
The Old Hall reimagined
The new suites reflect the materials and craftsmanship of the region, as well as the impact it has had globally. Textures are inspired by the area’s history of wool and linen production, and bathrooms reference the timeless solidity of North East sandstone architecture.
A palette of creamy neutrals is layered with deeper warm tones and burnished brass details, while generous bathrooms with oversize showers and baths, and considered vanity spaces add an element of indulgence to the suites.
A NEW CULINARY LANDMARK
Led by James & Maria Close
A new 36-cover standalone restaurant will form the heart of our transformation into a world-class, gastronomy-focused destination. Led by Culinary Director James Close, the concept is shaped by the global flavours, emotions and traditions he and his wife, Maria have encountered on their travels.
Guests begin in a dedicated Champagne and aperitif lounge before moving into a dining room centred around three open kitchen islands.
Dishes arrive in thoughtfully curated sequences, opening with small tastes of James and Maria’s favourites from around the world and progressing to refined expressions rooted in specific locations.
The restaurant features a six-seat chef’s table, visible ageing fridges, a citrus fridge and a floor-to-ceiling spice wall, all reinforcing the transparency and craft behind the culinary philosophy.
FROM MORNING COFFEE TO MIDNIGHT COCKTAILS
Beyond the flagship restaurant, a collection of reimagined spaces will shape the social and culinary life of Rockliffe Hall.
The former Orangery will reopen as a lively all-day restaurant, offering an Italian-American inspired menu that moves naturally from relaxed daytime dining into a more polished evening experience.
The intimate Cocktail Bar will introduce a curated selection of classics and creative signatures where craft, theatre and Japanese precision blend beautifully.
Afternoon Tea will be served in the Morning Room, offering an elevated interpretation of British tradition, accompanied by an extensive collection of English sparkling wines and speciality teas.
Beyond the flagship restaurant, Rockliffe Hall’s new era will introduce a refined collection of culinary experiences designed to elevate every moment of the day.
From golf and spa to curated experiences, family escapes and immersive stays, Rockliffe Hall is becoming one of the most compelling luxury resort destinations in the UK.
This transformation marks the beginning of something special. A world-class culinary destination, a reimagined historic estate, and a renewed expression of contemporary luxury in the North of England.
