The perfect addition to any Coronation celebration, make the Rockliffe edition of the Coronation No.1 cocktail at home.

This cocktail is inspired by a recipe found in Harry Craddock’s 1930 ‘The Savoy Cocktail Book’. The Coronation No.1 is believed to have been created for the coronation of King Edward VII in 1902 and is delightfully aromatic with faint notes of almond and delicately fruity maraschino.

Using 5ml of our very own Signature Revelry gin, to give a Rockliffe Hall twist, our Food and Beverage Director, Claudio, has shared the simple steps below to help you recreate this special cocktail:

Ingredients

5 ml Rockliffe Revelry Gin (can be substituted)

5ml Dry Vermouth

30ml Fino Sherry

2 dashes Maraschino Liqueur

3 dashes Orange Bitters

A twist of lemon

Orange peel to garnish

Method

  1. In a mixing glass combine all ingredients, add ice and stir until well chilled.
  2. Strain into a coupe cocktail glass.
  3. Add an orange twist to garnish.
