Get to know our Executive Housekeeper, Diane Payne and all the tremendous work she and her team do in keeping our busy hotel clean.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
"I am the Executive Housekeeper here at Rockliffe Hall. With the help of my team, we look after all the guest rooms and public areas of the hotel. We make sure that all the rooms are ready for guest arrivals and any requests are met e.g., flowers for a room, non-feather bedding, cots etc. I am also involved in the refurbishment program which is exciting".
What does a day on the job bring?
"The day starts with doing allocation of work for the team with the usual paperwork, payroll, orders, etc. Then it’s a walk around to make sure everything is in the right place. When the team comes in at 10am we do a morning briefing before heading off to clean the rooms. Then, it’s a check of all rooms to ensure they’re cleaned and ready for arrivals. By 3pm it’s back to the offices for more paperwork and handover to the late maids at 5pm".
What is your biggest Rockliffe achievement?
"My biggest achievement would be the department winning Department of the year 2022 and winning my AA housekeeper of the Year award 2022/23"
It's important to note that everyone from the Rockliffe team notices the work that Diane and her team do daily, as one team member commented:
"They have gone above and beyond all year - with exceptional cleanliness which is shown by the guest feedback and comments. Housekeeping has also had very high scores with the mystery guests who have stayed at Rockliffe, and they are always the first to offer any help and guidance to other departments. They are a pleasure to work with and a credit to Rockliffe Hall"
What is your favorite thing about your job?
"Having lovely and tidy rooms, and having the pleasure of working with my fantastic team every day."
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
"Outside of work, I enjoy swimming and reading. I and my husband often take part in sports together."
