This October at Rockliffe Hall we are raising awareness of the menopause policy and support options we have implemented to improve team member health and well-being in mid-life and beyond.
The team at the five-star resort have been working closely with the Menopause Mentor to provide relevant, evidence-based education and awareness on the transition from menstruation to menopause for all team members, including women, trans and intersex people and their relatives, colleagues and carers to provide a supportive network.
Earlier in the year Rockliffe Hall was the first independently owned hotel in the UK to launch a menopause policy to support team members, and will also be running workshops and seminars for Managers to further improve awareness and understanding, providing tools and guidance towards what support is available and how to have open conversations with colleagues.
Team members working at Rockliffe Hall also have access to a number of online support resources and options to receive medical and non-medical professional advice, in addition to consideration of flexible working hours and access to quiet rest areas, cool drinking water and wash/ changing facilities. If required, adapted uniforms can be provided, and temperate controls can be adapted.
Jason Adams, Managing Director, said “Our aim is to encourage a safe, supportive working community for all team members. Menopause health indicators can affect any team member, at any time. By raising awareness and providing education to our team we can improve wellbeing at work, allowing individuals to feel respected and give their best.”
To mark Menopause Month, Rockliffe Hall team members took part in an interview with BBC Tees alongside Catherine Harland, the Menopause Mentor, which you can listen to below.
