From an afternoon in the Spa Garden to five-star food like no other, there’s so much to do on resort here at Rockliffe Hall.

Whether you’re simply joining us for a long weekend or happen to be taking advantage of our 3 for 2 break, the road a 3 day break at a Darlington 5 Star Hotel is simple. Wine, dine, relax and retreat and leave all your troubles behind.

See how you too could be spending 72 hours in five-star luxury at Rockliffe, with our dedicated itinerary of activities including morning, noon and night.

From the moment you arrive…

Take in the beautiful scenery as you arrive at our door, ready to be greeted by our concierge and reception team. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, anniversary or are simply here for a break away why not add on something extra to your stay. A relaxing treatment one day, Spa Garden the next, or perhaps a dining experience every night to really live the Rockliffe life.

Whatever you choose to enhance your experience our dedicated team will always do their very best to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

Get to know the area…

Seen as though you’re with us for some time, why not get to know the area first. If you’re new around here, you can hire our bikes and ride around the streets of Hurworth finding all the little quirks of our lovely little village. Our grounds and surrounding areas are also fabulous for a long spring stroll, especially if you’ve brought your furry friend along for the journey or if you happen to be a wildlife enthusiast.

If you're wanting to venture a little further you could take a short road trip around County Durham or jump on a train to the cobbled streets of York. For the adventurers, High Force waterfall is a must, and for families, Beamish Museum has recently opened a brand new 1950s area. Who doesn't love a history trip?

As the afternoon turns into evening, retreat to your luxurious bedroom in one of our New Hall Suites to get ready for your in-house dining experience.

Dining Experiences…

Start your first night off with a bang by tasting the finest five-star food from our flagship restaurant, The Orangery set within the 18th Century Old Hall. Delight in a cocktail or a signature Rockliffe gin before delving into a truly remarkable evening experience you certainly won’t forget. Whether you’ve opted for our tasting menu or the A La Carte, Head Chef Steven Lamb and his Orangery team are deeply committed to producing innovative, modern British cuisine showcasing the very best of our local & British seasonal ingredients. And if that isn’t enough to tempt you, dine in even more style and opt for a wine pairing experience presented by our knowledgeable Sommelier team.

For the next two nights you’re with us on resort, be sure to try The Clubhouse restaurant for tasty British classics or Nu Sana*, the nutritious and delicious offering with some guilty pleasures of course. All of our restaurants propose character, quality food and attentive team members who will only add to your Rockliffe experience.

Day time activities…

After an unforgettable evening, it’s time for the Spa. Put on your swimsuit and get out your robes and slippers and head down for a day within our award-winning facilities. Including a swimming pool, a hydro pool, the sauna, steam room and so much more, it’s the ultimate place to relax and really take a moment for yourself. Whether you take full advantage of the indoor and outdoor facilities (did someone say hot tub?) for just one day, choose to explore a luxury treatment, a heavenly mud rasul ritual or the breath-taking views of our Spa Garden on day 2 or 3 – a must if you’re celebrating something special.

Perhaps the course is what it’s all about for you, grab a buggy, your clubs and head off for a round on the Championship golf course, or why not book a coaching session with our PGA professionals or check your swing on the Trackman launch monitor. If your guest would prefer to sit back and relax, we’d recommend taking up a pew on The Clubhouse terrace, the perfect spot for an afternoon drink on a lovely sunny, spring day and somewhere you can join them after hopefully a successful round. If it's a family activity you're looking for, a competative tennis tournament on the courts is a great way to let off some steam, a free activity for residents of Rockliffe.

And if that’s still not enough to tempt you for three whole days, how about a delightful afternoon tea dressed with sandwiches, pastries and a savoury treats – enough to get those tastebuds tingling, or maybe that’s the Champagne?

The morning after…

A good morning to you from the Rockliffe resort, be sure to head down for breakfast at least one time or more. From a full English breakfast to buttery pancakes, an array of pastries, muffins and of course a hot drink or two should keep you going for a fun-filled day ahead.

If one morning you’d prefer to lounge within the comfort of your room, your breakfast of choice can be served to your door. If breakfast just isn’t your thing, why not opt for a wakeup call and head down to the pool for an early morning dip or how about a leisurely walk around our newly refurbished Walled Kitchen Gardens opening later this Spring*.

Revive, refresh for what may be your last day on resort.

Will you be joining us this spring for a long weekend? Browse our 3 for 2 break below and live the Rockliffe life of luxury!

*Please note Nu Sana is only open for evening dining on Friday and Saturday evenings from 6pm.
