Eamonn Elliott, Chief Executive at Rockliffe Hall, said: “We are absolutely over the moon to have won this award and it confirms that we are the best of the best. For a north east hotel to be named the best large hotel in England, at such an esteemed ceremony, is a credit to everyone who works here and is great for the region. We appreciate that Matfen Hall were the holders of the award last year, so to see two northern winners is outstanding. I also wish to reflect how remarkable it was to hold the event at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, this was an outstanding venue, who positively represented the organisation that is VisitEngland.”

Tourism Minister, David Evennett, said: “The success of our world leading tourism industry is due to the passion and dedication of individuals across the country. These awards highlight the huge talent we have, and the fantastic contribution winners and nominees have made to the sector, and I congratulate them all.”
