Rockliffe Hall is delighted to support the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) and to be a corporate partner of the Teesside Hospice who are both taking part in the 2.6 Challenge, a national campaign designed to reduce the impact of many vital fundraising events being cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Both charities are asking all local people to join the nation on Sunday 26th April, and create their own fundraising challenge from home, around the numbers 2.6 or 26. This represents the 26 mile distance of the London Marathon, the world’s biggest one-day annual fundraising event which was scheduled to take place on the 26th April.
No matter your age or your fitness level, supporters are being asked to use their daily exercise or free time to fundraise. This could involve; covering 26 miles on your exercise bike, juggling for 26 minutes, baking 26 different cakes or walking 2.6 miles around your living room.
The possibilities are endless and the only requirement is that you follow Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing.
Debbie Coulson, Head of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications for the Teesside Hospice said: “We are really excited to be part of this campaign and get Teesside moving! From vital key workers, our community and even celebrities, Great Britain is joining together to fundraise from home and we want you to be part of Team Teesside.”
“You can encourage your friends and family to join in too. Whatever your challenge, by raising sponsorship you will be helping us to deliver our vital care to local people at this uncertain time. Despite our fundraising efforts and the recent announcement from the Government, we are still estimating a fundraising shortfall of over £200,000 in the next 3 months, so your support is crucial to us. Thank you.”
“We are also delighted to be working with Rockliffe Hall to encourage more local people to take part. It’s great to be able to continue working together in these challenging times.”
